NEWS and Kanjani8’s Ryo Nishikido’s (25) latest movie “ちょんまげぷりん (Chonmage Pudding)” has set a new Japan movie record in its opening weekend, reports Cinema Today.

Since the movie was released on July 31, the movie’s first two day box office revenue has been reported to be more than 44 million yen, and has attracted more than 30,000 fans.

While some people might assume that most of the movie goers were fans of the popstar, cinema workers have reported a wide range of people ordering tickets including many families, couples, and senior citizens.
