V6’s Junichi Okada (29) showed off his new martial arts skills at his movie’s event in Odaiba, Tokyo, on August 9, reports Sponichi Annex and Mainichi Shinbum Digital.

Okada and his “SP THE MOTION PICTURE 野望編 (Yabo volume, Ambition volume)” co-star Yoko Maki (27) came out of a car in front of the event stage with Fuji TV president Koh Toyoda.  As the two acted as the TV station’s bodyguards, a terrorist armed with a metal pipe came charging at the group.

While it had been part of an act, the 1000 fans at the event had no idea and had caused some women to scream.

A calm Okada stopped the attacker with a knee kick, followed by a shoulder throw.

The star said he had been practising Filipino martial arts Kali for this movie.

“I do even more amazing moves in the movie,” he said.

Co-star Satoru Matsuo (34) had complained he did not get the same attention as Okada when he performed his action moves at the event.

“I thought I was doing it seriously but I could hear the audience laughing,” he said.

The new movie depicts the last mystery left behind in the closing scenes of Okada’s drama “SP 警視庁警備部警護課第四係 (Keishicho Keibibu Keigoka Dai-yongakari)” from 2007/2008, which follows a security police team as they fight terrorists.

Filming had begun in September 2009 and had taken more than eight months to shoot.

“SP THE MOTION PICTURE 野望編 (Yabo volume, Ambition volume)” will be released in Japanese theaters on October 30, while its sequel, the 革命編 (Kakumei volume, Revolution volume) will be released in spring 2011.
