Kazuya Kamenashi (24) from KAT-TUN could not contain his excitement when he appeared at a Panasonic event with former pro-baseball player and sports reporter Atsuya Furuta (45) today in Tokyo, reports Oricon.
The two were at an event for Panasonic Beauty, a line of men’s electronic beauty products.
Despite being there to promote electronic appliances, Kamenashi, who has been playing baseball from a young age, could not stop talking about baseball with Furuta, even after the event had finished.
“He’s a player I’ve been following since primary school so this is really unbelievable,” he said.
But while Kamenashi was star-struck by Furuta, the sports reporter had confessed he was just as happy to meet the Johnny’s star.
“My wife (free announcer Miho Nakai) is a huge fan! She said I had to get photos of him,” he said.
Furuta also gave Kamenashi some advice in regards to the singer’s own work as a TV sports reporter.
“Make the most of the time you’re out on location and keep that enthusiasm going. I think you might even be able to work as a full time sports reporter some time,” he said
Not forgetting what he was there for, Kamenashi got the job done promoting the products, which have so far sold more than one million shaver’s and four million hair dryers.
“They give you a peace of mind. I hope more people can use them, it doesn’t matter whether you’re a man or a woman,” he said.
TOKIO’s Tatsuya Yamaguchi’s (38) wife has given birth to the couple’s second son, it was revealed yesterday, reports Sankei Sports.
It has been reported that Johnny’s & Associates have released information that on September 17 at around 4pm, the baby boy was born in a hospital within Tokyo.
Both mother and son are doing well and Yamaguchi has been reported to have been relieved that both are okay.
The baby’s name has not been revealed, and Yamaguchi is yet to make a comment.
The star had married his former model wife in March 2008 after the two had been dating for eight years. They already have a two-year-old son.
Johnny’s star Noriyuki Higashiyama (43) will have a role in Toma Ikuta’s upcoming movie “源氏物語 (Genji Monogatari)”, it was revealed yesterday, reports Sponichi Annex and Sankei Sports.
Higashiyama will play Heian period noble Fujiwara no Michinaga, who had inspired the Genji Monogatari story to be made in the first place.
The star has already played the title role of Genji in the story’s 1991 TV drama special for TBS.
“I feel incredibly privileged to have been asked to work on the same project for the second time in my life.
“I’m not going to lose to Ikuta! (laughs),” Higashiyama said.
Although they both belong to the same agency, the two actors have not many opportunities to work together. The most recent being in 2003 – 2004 when Ikuta had appeared in PLAYZONE.
The role of Genji Monogatari creator Murasakishikibu has been given to Miki Nakatani (34).
Filming for the movie begins today, and the movie is expected to be released next year.
