Johnny’s group Arashi have clinched their 30th no.1 single with “果てない空 (Hatenai Sora)”, having sold more than 570,000 records since its release on November 10, reports Oricon.

It has been reported that only two other music artists have achieved a career total of 30 no.1 singles, rock duo B’z and singer Ayumi Hamasaki.

However, Arashi had achieved their feat in 11 years while it had taken B’z 14 years, creating a new record in the male artist category.

Another personal achievement for the group is that “Hatenai Sora” has become their fastest-selling single to date, surpassing their first-week sales record of 557,000 for their debut single “A.RA.SHI” in 1999.

The group’s latest single is the theme song to group member Kazunari Ninomiya’s TV drama “フリーター、家を買う (Freeter, Ie wo Kau)”.
