Johnny’s back in Japan Record Awards for first time in nearly 20 years

Johnny’s senior talent Masahiko Kondo (46)  has been named Best Vocal Performer at this year’s Japan Record Awards, it was announced on November 19, reports Mainichi Shinbum.

It is the first time a Johnny’s singer has won an award from the Japan Record Awards in almost 20 years, putting the agency back in the spotlight.

This is also Kondo’s third win in his career; he has already won the Best New Artist and Japan Record Award in the past.

While most of the winners were announced yesterday, the Japan Record Award and Best New Artist Award will be announced during the award ceremony on December 30.
