Arashi’s latest DVD not only makes its debut at number 1 on the weekly charts, it has sold more than any other music DVD in Japanese history, figures released on February 2 show, reports Oricon and Mainichi Shimbun Digital.

The group’s eighth DVD, “ARASHI 10-11 TOUR “Scene”  ~君と僕が見ている風景(Kimi to Boku ga Miteiru Fukei)~ STADIUM”, sold 618,000 copies in its first week of sales.  The figure is much larger than their last DVD, “ARASHI Anniversary Tour 5 X 10”, which had sold 477,000 copies in its first week of sales last April.

It is also the first time music DVD sales have topped 600,000 in its first week.

The group’s latest release is their fifth consecutive number 1, and their seventh number 1 in total.

The DVD shows footage from the group’s concert at the National Stadium in Tokyo on September 3 2010, where Arashi performed 40 songs for their fans.
