Two members of TOKIO were filming at DASH village when the earthquake struck north-eastern Japan on March 11, it was revealed during the group’s TV show on April 24, reports Sponichi Annex and Sankei Sports.

It has been reported TOKIO leader Shigeru Joshima and Tatsuya Yamaguchi were in the middle of filming at DASH village when the earthquake happened.  Yamaguchi had said it had taken them about 11 hours to get back to Tokyo.

“I knew that everyone (who was involved with DASH village at the site) were okay, but I’m worried about what’s happened to them since,” he said.

TOKIO’s Taichi Kokubun added he hopes things will go back to normal.

“They’ve been so kind to us, we have to do something in return.  That also means getting (DASH village) back,” he said.

DASH village’s location had been kept secret up to know, but for the first time it was revealed to be in an area north-west of Namie town, Fukushima prefecture.  The town lies within the 20 to 30-kilometre zone from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, which meant the entire town, including DASH village workers and DASH village livestock, had to be evacuated for their safety.

Yesterday’s show also showed footage of Joshima visiting evacuation centres in Fukushima.
