Advance tickets for Kanjani8′s hero movie “エイトレンジャー (Eightranger)” went on sale on June  8, but already 80,142 have been sold, reports Oricon.

Despite being a weekday, it has been reported more than 300 fans had lined up outside Shinjuku’s Wald 9 cinemas by 8:15am.  Long lines had also been reported in movie cinemas in Shibuya and Ikebukuro, prompting ticket offices to open earlier than scheduled.

It has been reported 88,888 special postcards would be given out to the first buyers of the first batch of advance tickets, leading to fans in the group’s hometown Osaka to line up at cinemas in Umeda and Namba from 4am.  It has been reported some cinemas ran out of their batch of special postcards within the morning.

“エイトレンジャー (Eightranger)” will be released on July 28.
