Head’s up, Kamenashi sweat might fall on crowds during DREAM BOYS

KAT-TUN’s Kazuya Kamenashi and the cast of stage show DREAM BOYS had their first full run through on September 2 and said they hope to have a injury-free season, reports News 24.

Kamenashi, Hey! Say! JUMP’s Hikaru Yaotome, Kis-My-Ft2’s Yuta Tamamori, Toshiya Miyata and Kento Senga will spend most of September performing the stage show, which has been performed by Johnny’s talents since 2004.  The coming of age story features songs, dance, flying acrobatics, and even boxing.

Afterwards, Kamenashi told reporters at the rehearsal he was happy there were not any problems during the rehearsal.

“It was my first time going through the whole show on stage.  I was a little nervous.”

It has been reported Kamenashi was not the only person who was nervous.  The production team have been double checking all safety measures for their lead man ever since Japanese kabuki performer Somegoro Ichikawa had broken some bones after falling during his own stage performance.

“You have no idea what could happen so we’re doing our best to keep an eye on things and I need to keep reminding myself that what I’m doing is dangerous.  I hope Somegoro-san make it back on stage as soon as possible,” Kamenashi said.

This DREAM BOYS season will feature flying acrobatics for the first time since 2010.  The stunt was taken out of last year’s season because frequent aftershocks from the March 11 Japan Earthquake had meant it was not safe enough to carry them out.  It has been reported fans will get to see some new flying acrobatic sequences too, and Kamenashi said he can do them because his fans are there watching him.

“To be honest, today was the first time I’ve been able to pull off this stunt.  It makes a huge difference when there are people in the seats, they give me confidence,” he said.

It has been reported one reporter at yesterday’s rehearsal noticed Kamenashi had the longest time in the air, and said to the Johnny’s talent that “you’re dropping ‘Kame-jiru (referring to his sweat)’.  Are you concerned some of it might fall on your fans?”

“I know.  But I take a shower at least four times a day so don’t worry,” Kamenashi said.

Kamenashi also said he was looking forward to how fans would react to his performance with Yaotome, Tamamori, Miyata, and Senga this season.

“The five of us made this stage to bring out the best in us, and I think you’ll be able to see different parts of it throughout the show.”

Kazuya Kamenashi gearing up for DREAM BOYS 2012

New talents are getting ready give a show about young dreams, failure, and friendship in this year’s Johnny’s stage show DREAM BOYS, it was announced at the show’s press conference, reports Yomiuri Shimbun on July 18.

It has been reported the show has been running since 2004, and this year Hey! Say! JUMP’s Hikaru Yaotome, and Kis-My-Ft2’s Yuya Tamamori, Toshiya Miyata and Kento Senga will join the cast.  In contrast, KAT-TUN’s Kazuya Kamenashi has been involved with the show since it’s first season.

“For the first time I’m the oldest in the group.  I’ve known these guys since they were little, I hope everyone will look forward to what we create together,” Kamenashi said.

Last year Kamenashi pulled off difficult stunts like acrobatic jumps five-metres in the air, and complicated wire action sequences.

“I don’t feel I’m putting pressure on myself.  I don’t believe in forcing myself to work for something that I think will be cool,” Kamenashi said.

The KAT-TUN star also said this year’s show would be a team effort, with everyone bringing what they each do best to the show, including Yaotome with his stage performance skills, Senga with his dancing, and Miyata with his sense of humour.

“I hope we can mash up all of our talents together,” Kamenashi said.

“It’ll be a colour only the five of us can bring out,” Tamamori said.

DREAM BOYS begins it’s season at the Imperial Garden Theater in Tokyo from September 3.  Tickets go on sale on August 4 to the public.

Fans spot Hey! Say! JUMP’s Hikaru Yaotome with model Tsubasa Honda in Disneyland

A photo of Tsubasa Honda’s skirt posted on her blog around the same time as the Disneyland date. The similarity in the skirt and shoes has had fans guessing it is her in the Disneyland photo

Hikaru Yaotome and Tsubasa Honda have been spotted on a possible Disneyland date without any disguises, reports monthly magazine BUBKA.

It has been reported several fans had seen the Hey! Say! JUMP member in Disneyland around mid-June with Honda, who is currently a model for non-no magazine and has been starring in TV drama GTO.

“I saw a cute couple walking towards me.  And it was Y-kkuuand Tsubasa Honda.  They were a really good-looking couple,” said one teenager.

It has been reported the two were wearing hats, but nothing else to hide their faces, and looked like every other couple in the theme park who was there to have fun.

Honda is an uprising model and actress, and apart from her current work, has already clinched her first title role in the movie “FASHION STORY” which is due out next year.  According to one source however, her cute boyish haircut look does not mirror her personality.

“She looks innocent and private, but she’s quite open about her relationships.  Shortly after photo-stickers of her cuddling with her model ex-boyfriend were leaked, there were sightings of her in January on a date with her new boyfriend…in Disneyland too, I think.  Despite the fact she was becoming a more recognizable celebrity, I heard she was didn’t seem to take notice of people watching her as she kissed him in public,” said one magazine reporter.

As for Yaotome, it has been reported over the years he has been linked with many girls, including Miyabi Natsuyaki from Berryz Kobo and Perfume’s A-chan.

“He met Honda at a nomikai (drinking party).   Apparently they started talking and found out they were both huge B’z fans, and then they immediately hit it off,” said the same source as above.

It will be worth keeping an eye on where these two are heading in the future.

Three Johnny’s talents to star in Korean drama “You’re Beautiful” remake

Kis-My-Ft2’s Yuta Tamamori, Taisuke Fujigaya, and Hey! Say! JUMP’s Hikaru Yaotome will star in a remake of “You’re Beautiful (also known as ‘He’s Beautiful’)”, it was revealed on May 17, reports Nikkan Sports and Sports Hochi.

The TBS drama will go on air from July and the lead will be played by actress Miori Takimoto.  The drama will follow Takimoto’s character, who finds herself replacing her twin brother in his band, made up of Tamamori, Fujigaya, and Yaotome.  It has been reported the band’s leader role, played by Jang Geun-suk in the original drama, will be taken up by Tamamori.

A producer at TBS has said Johnny’s talents were chosen for the drama because “when people think of イケメン (ikemen, good-looking guys) in Japan, they think of Johnny’s”.  It has been reported Tamamori was cast as the band leader because he looked like he could pull of the straight-forward-genius-and-good-looking-but-also-charming guy role.

“I felt a lot of pressure after hearing this was a No.1 drama in South Korea, but I hope to do my best in the Japanese ‘You’re Beautiful’,” Tamamori said.

Fujigaya has been cast as the band’s guitarist, and Yaotome the band’s drummer.

The South Korean drama had been aired in Japan last summer and became a huge hit, becoming rental DVD shop TSUTAYA’s No.1 most rented Korean drama of 2010.

It has been reported the remake’s plot will be mostly the same as the original drama, and might involve guest appearances from Geun-suk and other Johnny’s talents.

It has been reported Geun-suk himself is looking forward to watching the Japanese version.

“I can’t wait to see how Tamamori-san creates Hwang Tae Kyung, the character that I played.  I’m sure he’ll be able to make it unique in his own way and I support him,” he said.
