One of Johnny’s Jr. group A.B.C-Z’s members might be injured, but yesterday the group had showed they were staying positive for the start of their new stage show season, reports Sankei Sports.

It is the second year in a row A.B.C-Z take the lead roles in “少年たち (Shonen-tachi)“, which starts its season in Tokyo on September 4.

It has been reported group member Ryoichi Tsukada, who specialises in acrobatics, had tore a ligament in his left leg during rehearsals last month.  Although this means he can’t perform any stunts until his leg recovers, the A.B.C-Z member said he was optimistic about the situation.

“I might not be able to do acrobatics, but I’m more enthusiastic than ever!”

Fellow group member Ryosuke Hashimoto had joked it could be worth coming to see the show while Tsukada is recovering.

“This might be the only time you’ll ever see Tsuka-chan not doing acrobatics.”

It has been reported Kansai Johnny’s Jr. member Akito Kiriyama said their talents were worth seeing as well.
“The Kansai team have come back better than last year, I think we’ll be some fierce competition for the other [Johnny’s Jr. from Tokyo],” he said.

“Yeah, but one of ours is injured…,” A.B.C-Z member Fumito Kawai said.

Tackey tells press he doesn’t have a double to help with his 10 character changes in stage show

Johnny’s talent Hideaki Takizawa talked about his hopes for “滝沢歌舞伎 (Takizawakabuki)” on April 9 in Tokyo as the stage show started its new season, reports News 24.

“滝沢歌舞伎 (Takizawakabuki)” was first performed on stage in 2006, and is now being performed in Tokyo until May for its 2012 season.  April 16’s night show will mark the 300th time Takizawa has performed his show which includes 10 quick character changes as Takizawa plays historical figures like Yoshitsune and Benkei.  It has been reported in the first show of the year Takizawa was changing into the characters faster than he was last year, prompting some of the press to ask the talent if he had a double to help out.

“No I don’t.  It’s all me.  I’m seeing how much my body can do and I’m having fun,” Takizawa said.

The show’s cast features talents from Kansai Johnny’s Jr. for the first time.

“It’s a new ‘Takizawakabuki’.  The Kansai power is so amazing, they’re really hungry for things to do.  It might even turn into a ‘Kansai-kabuki’ show.  I will do my best to make sure they don’t overtake the show though.  I hope that inside of me, I can stay as young as the junior talents,” he said.

On the topic of age, this season will be the first time for Takizawa to perform in in his 30s.

“I’m happy.  No matter how many years have gone by, people still come to see it.  I think it’s thanks to the fans that the show has evolved,” he said.

Johnny’s Jr. talent and B.A.D. member Akito Kiriyama performed a somersault from a platform 2.1 metres high during a concert on December 5, reports Daily Sports Online.

Kiriyama was performing in the Kansai Johnny’s Jr. X’mas Concert in Osaka.  It has been reported in front of a crowd of 1000 fans, Kiriyama climbed up onto the platform between songs, took a deep breath, then jumped and flipped around to land perfectly on his feet again.  The only other Johnny’s talents known to have succeeded in pulling off a somersault from that height are Noriyuki Higashiyama from Shonentai and Koichi Domoto from KinKi Kids.

“My personal best up to now was 1.8 metres,” Kiriyama said, making this a new record by 30 centimetres.
